Miike Snow and The Goo Goo Dolls

Miike Snow is a indie rock band from Stockholm, Sweden. They named the band this because one member received a email from a friend names Mike Snow. They added an extra "i" because it looked cool. The members include Christian Karlsson, Pontus Winnburg, and Andrew Wyatt. The band released their début album in 2009 and their first single shortly afterward. Their first single was "Animal," and just so happened to be the first song I had heard from them. This is personally my favorite song of theirs because I think that is has a good rhythm, sound, and overall volume of the vocals with the music. I like their first album because they include a little bit of more modern style along with and older feel as well. I really like how they use drums even with so much "industrial" sound. I like their songs "Silvia" and "Black & Blue," from their first album especially. Miike Snow's second album "Happy to You" came out in march of 2012. The song "Devil's Work" is a good song and I like how it starts out with the drums and piano and I think they did a good job incorporating the trumpets. There are a few great songs on this album and then there are a few that I feel they may have overdosed on the electronics.
The Goo Goo Dolls are an American rock band formed in 1986 and have made 14 albums since then as well as many hits. The members include John Rzeznik, Robby Takac, George Tutaska,(1986-1994) and Mike Maligning (1995-2013).
The Goo Goo Dolls' "Iris" was number one on the Billboard's Top 100 Pop songs 1992-2012 chart and their song "Slide" was at number nine. It would take all day to list my favorite songs of theirs so I will just list a few, "Let Love In," "Name," and "Here is Gone" are some of The Goo Goo Dolls best songs. I would extremely encourage you to check out "The Goo Goo Dolls Greatest Hits Volume One: The Singles" album, it has many of their best songs from all of their 14 albums. I would also encourage you to do some hunting of your own for songs you may like.

If you like either of these bands I recommend to look at The Black Keys.

The jackolope is associated with every Miike Snow album or music video.

Foster the People and Two Door Cinema Club

Foster the People is an American, indie pop band from Los Angeles, CA. The band was formed in 2009 and the members include Mark Foster (vocals, keyboards, piano, guitar, programming, and percussion), Jacob Fink (bass and backing vocals), and Mark Pontius (drums and percussion). The band is mostly known for their song "Pumped Up Kicks" which was number three on the Billboard chart for eight weeks. "Pumped Up Kicks" was the bands debut single and is spread success to Foster the People's début album, "Torches." This album was relapsed in 2011 and contained some of my favorite songs of Foster the People. "Helena Beat," "Call It What You Want," and "Color the Walls" are my favorite songs on this album and are some of the most popular as well. Their 2nd album, "Supermodel" was released in 2014 and also has some great songs like "Never Mind," "Are You What You Wanna Be," and "Coming Of Age." "Coming Of Age" has one of my favorite music videos that I think you should check out.
Two Door Cinema Club was formed in 2007 and is an Irish indie rock band. The members of the band include Alex Trimble (lead vocals, rhythm guitar, synths, and drums), Sam Halliday (lead guitar and vocals), and Kevin Baird (bass, vocals, and synths). Two Door Cinema Club is virtually unknown but have had their music used in TV commercials, movies, TV shows, and even video games.
Two Door Cinema's début album, "Tourist History," contains some of their most famous songs like "I Can Talk" and "What You Know." I love both of these songs and I would recommend this whole album. My absolute favorite song on this album would have to be "Come Back Home."
"Beacon," was Two Door Cinema's 2nd album and is just as good as the first. My favorite songs on this album would have to be, "Next Year" and "Handshake."
If you like Two Door Cinema Club I would recommend Checking out the new band, Smallpools and their song "Dreaming."

Carolina Liar and Air Traffic: Unknown Wonders

Carolina Liar was formed in 2006 by Chad Wolf. Chad is from Moncks Corner, South Carolina. All of the other band members are from Stockholm, Sweden. The members include Richard Göransson (guitar 2007+),  John Carlsson (keyboard 2007+), Peter Carlsson (drums and percussion 2009+), Erick Hääger (bass 2007+), Jim Almgren Gandara (guitar 2007-2009), and Max Grain (drums and percussion 2007-2009). The band's debut album, "Coming to Terms," contained some of their most famous songs,  "Show Me What I'm Looking For," and "I'm Not Over." I personally love this album and I fell in love with the band the first time I heard them. My Favorite songs on this album are, "Coming to Terms," "Done Stealing," and "Beautiful World." I think Carolina Liar has great sound and great lyrics on this album. As for their latest album, "Wild Blessed Freedom," I am not as impressed. I think they still did good on this album but I feel that is was a disappointment compared to "Coming to Terms." There is one song on this album that I did happen to love and that was "King of Broken Hearts." I would highly encourage you to check out their first album, it had at least two or three of my all-time favorite songs.

Air Traffic, a English, alternative rock band from Bournemouth, was formed in 2003. The members include Chris Wall (piano and lead vocals), David Ryan Jordan (drums), Tom Pritchard (guitar), and Jim Maddock (bass). The band got its name because they would practice in an industrial unit and would pick up traffic controls on their amps from the next door airport. The band's debut album was "Fractured Life." I like this album a lot and one of my favorite songs would have to be "No More Running Away," because of the drums that they used. I like how they incorporated the drums into the "No More Running Away" music video. I also like "Time Goes By" and "Charlotte." "Charlotte" was the first song that I had heard of theirs and I decided to look the band up after hearing it because I thought that Air Traffic's sound was very busy but entertaining. The band decided to take some time off in 2010 and have just recently gotten back together. Air Traffic has released  their demo of "Take Your Hands Off Me." They hope to soon put out a new album, so be watching.

Matchbox 20 and Train; Double Take

Matchbox 20 was formed in 1995 in Orlando, Florida. The band members include Rob Tomas who is lead vocals and piano, Brain Yale with bass, Paul Doucette on drums and guitar, Kyle Cook as lead guitar and backing vocals, and for touring Matt Beck with guitar and keyboard along with Stacey Jones on drums. Their albums are "Yourself or Someone Like You" (1996), "Mad Season" (2000), which was in the top 3 in the Billboard 200, "More than You Think You Are" (2002), and "Exile on Mainstream." I love Matchbox 20 because of the great drums and guitar duos. The rhythm of the music always complements with the rhythm of the singing. I also like how they haven't changed their style a whole lot because I feel that they have always been able to get a good sound. Matchbox 20 keeps getting increasingly popular and I feel their new music is just as great as their earlier music, so if you have heard them, I would encourage you to look at their earlier stuff. "Mad Season" was one album I would definitely recommend checking out.
Train is a rock band formed in San Francisco. Its members today include Pat Monahan on vocals, Jimmy Becker as guitar and piano, Hector Maldonado on bass and Drew Shoals on drums. Their albums include "Train" (1998), "Drops of Jupiter" (2001), "My Private Nation" (2003), "For Me, It's You" (2006), "Save Me, San Francisco" (2006), "California 37" (2012), and most recently, "Bulletproof Picasso." Train, like Matchbox 20, has been popular. Their new song, "Angle in Bluejeans," has been becoming famous among the radio stations. Train is really good at finding good rhyming, catchy lyrics. I think this is why they are becoming even more popular. One song I would absolutely check out would be "Drops of Jupiter (Tell Me)." I think this is a great creative song and it has gotten well deserved praise. This song won two Grammys in 2002. I would highly recommend checking out their other albums as well because you will most likely find something you like.

If you like Matchbox 20 or Train, I would suggest checking out The Script.
