Rock is one of my favorite genres. My favorite artists of this genre are Modest Mouse, The Goo Goo Dolls, and The Fray. Modest Mouse has a few angry songs as well as sarcastic and also sad songs. I love all their music and have found that they have a song for every mood and person. The Goo Goo Dolls songs have strong songs that will relax anyone. I see many of their songs going down in history. I recommend buying an album with a mix of their greatest hits so that you can have a variety of their songs as well as the best of the best. I like The Fray because like the Goo Goo Dolls, their music is soothing but their music sometimes can be jumpy. I have been to a concert of The Fray and I am glad to say I will be attending another this summer and I could not be more thrilled.
I recently got addicted the the indie pop/rock genre of music. Young the Giant is one of my absolute favorite artists that I have recently discovered. I like how they are able to keep a faster, fuller drum sound than most but they can still keep tranquilizing sound. They have a very good mix of instruments, sounds, and paces but can still keep the same peaceful yet happy mood. Bastille is my number one favorite band and has been since I first heard their song "Pompeii." Since first hearing that song I have fallen in love with many of their other songs like, "Poet," (which sounds like a song about murder if you don't take in to consideration the title while listing to it) "Things We Lost In the Fire," and "Laura Palmer." I love all of their songs except for "Laughter Lines" because I can't stand the beginning but I like the violins in the middle. I also really like Foster the People because they do a good job with the tecno sound and what not. Their song "Call it What You Want," is a favorite of mine because it has an original sound from editing but you still get a classic sound from the piano which topics it all off.
I like the Alternative genre because you can find all kinds of songs that can have totally different feelings and moods like Mumford and Son vs Hoizer. My favorite bands of this genre are Air Traffic, Imagine Dragons, and Coldplay. I like all these bands because each any everyone of them has a good variety of moods and styles so you are never bored.
