Music to Look Forward to this Year

      2014 has come and gone but has given us a few new artists and albums to love and look forward to. Imagine Dragons is working on a new album, "Smoke + Mirrors" which is expected to come out on the 17th of February. Two singles have already been released. "I Bet My Life," was the first to be released and "Gold" was released soon after. I really like "I Bet My Life." I the complexity of the music; there are so many different sounds and things going on but they some how fit together. As for "Gold" I didn't like it as much I felt like there was too much going on and at times it felt jarring. I hope the rest of the album is just a little less busy; even though I thought Imagine Dragons did great on "I Bet My Life," I just hope the rest of the album isn't as disconcerting as "Gold."
       In other news, Bastille released their new album "VS. (Other People's Heartache Pt. III)." Most of the album was to "Pop" for my liking but I could see many others falling in love with this album.
      A band to keep an eye out for this year would be Oh Honey. They opened a concert for The Fray which I got a chance to attend. I think they sound pretty good live, in fact almost as good as they sound on the radio. It didn't take long for me to get their EP, "With Love." My favorite song of this EP would have to be "Be Okay." I think this song has a great beat and guitar. I also like "Get It Right," because of the chimes and tambourine, I think these instruments together made it sound like a cute little love song which I normally don't like. Truly, I like all of Oh Honey's songs and I would recommend them all. They recently released their new EP "Sincerely Yours." Which is just as good if not a little better than their first EP.
