Bastille, new and rising british rock band

Bastille is an indie rock band from London, France that started in 2010. The band was created by Dan Smith, lead singer. Dan was once a solo singer/songwriter but decided to form a band, Bastille. The band is named after Bastille's day, a French holiday that is on Dan's birthday (July 14).
The members of the band include, Dan Smith (percussion and singer), Chris "Woody" Wood (drums), Will Farquarson (acoustic guitar) and Kyle Simmons (percussion).
Bastille's music consists of intense drumbeats and great electronic sound. Their music is classified as alternative, indie rock, and electronic. Bastille has done some song covers in the past like a cover of The XX's "Angels" and Bruno Mars' "Locked out of heaven." Some of Bastille's original songs have history tied into them like their song "Pompeii" was based off of the disaster of the early BC volcanoe eruption that covered the city of Pompeii in ash. Another song based off history, is their song, "Icarus". Icarus was a figure in Greek mythology who had wings and was determined to fly to the sun. The song "Laura Palmer" is a song that is based of a character in a British television show called "Twin Peaks," the song describes Laura's ill-fate. Bastille's style has been popular in Britain from the start and has now star-struck the United States.
Bastille was given their first contract with Virgin EMI Records where they produced their first hit, "Oblivion."
"Pompeii" was the first really big hit in the United States, reaching the top of the charts at number five in the summer of 2013 and was at number one in the UK. Bastille was featured on Saturday Night Live on January 27th of 2014. Bastille's album "Bad Blood" was realized on the first of January, 2013, and skyrocketed to becoming the biggest selling electronic album of 2013. After the success of the album "Bad Blood," Bastille came out with an extended album "All this Bad Blood," which contains new songs and new parts to previous songs. The extended album was released March, 4th, 2013. Dan has said that they are planning on releasing a new album soon, but not so sure when due to tours and traveling for Bastille.
